Capacity Building

The Islands Society believes that we must do a better job of equipping individuals and organizations in island communities with access to information, knowledge and training that enables them to effectively evaluate and address crucial policy questions. For this reason, we work to strengthen the skills, competencies, and abilities of individuals and organizations in island communities through knowledge-sharing projects. We therefore partner with academic institutions, local governments, nonprofit organizations, and small businesses to help them put in place the processes and procedures that are required to fulfill their mission. This covers a wide range of projects, including the development of strategic plans, public relations strategies, marketing strategies, communication strategies, SWOT analyses, organizational branding, website audits, digital marketing strategies, and social media strategies.
