Throughout the event, riders from diverse backgrounds faced off across three disciplines: surf foil, downwind, and dock start.
In parallel with this international competition, athletes licensed with the French Surf Federation had the opportunity to contest the French Championships in each of these disciplines.
It is therefore important to distinguish international results, which account for all participants, from the French Championship standings, reserved for athletes eligible for national titles.
French Championships: two titles for Axel Pham and several Tahitian podiums
Representatives from the island shone particularly in the national classifications.
Axel Pham delivered a remarkable double by clinching the French titles in both surf foil and downwind.
In downwind, Raiarii Fadier completed the national podium with third place, while Toaura Haumani finished fourth.
In dock start, Tuaiva Brothers earned third place at the French Championship, adding another Tahitian podium to the record.
International competition: Haunui Haumani and Kirahu Thibault on the podium
In the international standings, Tahitian riders also stood out against competitors from various countries.
On the final day dedicated to dock start, Haunui Haumani clinched an excellent second place internationally.
In surf foil, in the Open category, Kirahu Thibault also delivered a very strong performance, finishing third in the international rankings, ahead of Clément Roseyro.
Two international podiums that testify to the level of Tahitian riders against the event’s top contenders.
Overall international: Axel Pham wins the overall ranking
Beyond individual results in each discipline, the competition also rewarded the most versatile riders through an overall international ranking, the Overall, established from performances across surf foil, downwind, and dock start.
And it is Axel who takes this overall international ranking, confirming his consistency and versatility throughout the event.
Already crowned double French champion in surf foil and downwind, the Tahitian adds another victory in the Overall International to his résumé.
In the women’s category, Naumi Eychenne also delivered an excellent competition by taking third place in the overall international ranking.
Leading in surf foil, third in the combined standings of the two downwind rounds, and fourth in dock start, she also demonstrates a commendable versatility across the three disciplines.
A particularly positive tally for Tahitian foil
Between the French championship titles and international podiums, the island’s representatives conclude this competition with an excellent tally.
With two national titles and a victory in the overall international ranking for Axel Pham, international podiums for Haunui Haumani, Kirahu Thibault, and Naumi Eychenne, as well as national podiums for Raiarii Fadier and Tuaiva Brothers, Tahitians have once again demonstrated their talent.
These performances confirm the level and versatility of Polynesian riders, capable of competing on the international stage while also excelling in the French Championships.
