Beach Soccer: After Papua New Guinea’s Withdrawal, Tiki Toa to Begin on October 24

October 22, 2026

Selections will have to adapt. In a post released this Wednesday, October 21, on the eve of the competition’s originally scheduled start, the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) announced the withdrawal of Papua New Guinea and a new schedule.

The OFC Beach Soccer Men’s Nations Cup 2026 will therefore begin Saturday, October 24, instead of Thursday, October 22, at Aorai Tini Hau Park. Four teams remain in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup qualifiers: Tahiti, Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands and New Caledonia.

Each team will face the other three once, in a four-team round-robin. The top two in the standings will advance to the final, kept on Saturday, October 31 at 16:00. A third-place match will be played on the same day at 14:00.

Three Fixtures for the Tiki Toa

For the Tahitian squad, the campaign will begin against Vanuatu, followed by two clashes with the Solomon Islands and New Caledonia. All three matches will take place at Aorai Tini Hau Park, with kickoff at 16:00:

  • Saturday, October 24: Tahiti – Vanuatu
  • Monday, October 26: Tahiti – Solomon Islands
  • Wednesday, October 28: Tahiti – New Caledonia

Despite this last-minute change, the objective remains the same for the Tiki Toa: finish in the top two, secure a place in the final, and continue toward the World Cup.
