November 2, 2026

A strong performance for sailing in the South Pacific. Facing 48 other crews from seven countries, Moana Annonier and Félix Tron earned bronze at the European Nacra 15 Championships, a 4.70-meter sport catamaran.

Held from October 24 to 31 at the Barcelona International Sailing Center, the competition gathered 98 sailors. At the end of the final races, the Polynesian-New Caledonian crew finished third with 64 points, behind two Italian duos. Mattia Di Martino and Nina Cittar, already world champions, won the event with 46 points, ahead of their compatriots Alessandro Vargiu and Noa Lisci (54 points).

The highest-placed French crew in the overall standings, the Pacific duo also secured bronze in the under-19 category.

The two young sailors are pursuing their final year of high school in La Rochelle, France, where they train at the Federal Hope Centre (Pôle Espoirs Fédéral).

Moana Annonier had already represented the homeland with the Arue Sailing School at the 2025 Nacra 15 World Championships, and then at the French championships in 2026.

With this new European podium, the two young sailors confirm their potential on the international stage.
