Trump Wants UFC President Dana White as White House Spokesperson

November 8, 2026

Following Friday’s nomination of his adviser Stephen Miller, a hard-right figure, to serve as White House Chief of Staff, the Republican president thus confirms his displayed combative stance toward the forthcoming Democratic congressional majority, after his camp’s rout in the crucial midterm elections on Tuesday.

Donald Trump made the announcement on his Truth Social network, noting that Dana White, described as a “fighter and violent warrior,” had not yet accepted the offer.

But his message was reposted by a White House X account, and the individual, who was attending a fight in London, posted on his Instagram account a photo of him at the podium in the White House press room, with the caption “Toward the new chapter,” and he also shared the message.

“Dana, please take this job,” wrote Donald Trump, urging him to surround himself with aides from the MMA world, including two Russians and a Brazilian, “even if some are not from our country.”

“We need these people to defend us against the crazy left,” he added, referring to the victorious Democratic opposition.

Earlier, Donald Trump had claimed on Truth Social that he would order his Justice Department to investigate the threats from the Democrats, described as “blackmail,” and to use their forthcoming majority to initiate impeachment proceedings against members of his government.

Democratic leaders have indicated that one of the new majority’s priorities in Congress starting in January would be to launch congressional investigations into Donald Trump, his administration, and his close allies, whom they accuse in particular of corruption.

The investigations could be especially aimed at the Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth, or the Attorney General, Todd Blanche.

The strategic post of White House spokesperson has been vacant since the ousting on October 16 of Katie Zacharia, fired after less than a week.

Donald Trump had celebrated his 80th birthday in June by hosting an MMA tournament at the White House, organized by the UFC.

Dana White, bald and athletic, had stepped onto the stage on November 6, 2024, during Donald Trump’s victory speech for the presidential election as well as at his inauguration at the Republican convention in July 2024.

This conservative and masculinist figure, who describes Donald Trump as his “pal,” has since joined Meta’s board of directors (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp), emblematic of the conservative shift taken by Mark Zuckerberg, a devotee of MMA.
